Murder by Death says farewell with a final album. Very well, I think they are eligible for retirement. MBD were formed in 2000 and have released ten albums. MBD can be labeled "indie rock". However, MBD would be just another ordinary indie band, if it weren’t for their weird, brooding and gothic sound. The final album is followed by a farewell tour that ends in November 2025. It seems like the farewell shows will be sold out. MBD are a sought-after band and still in demand. The final album is an elegy. Restrained, somber and sad are words that comes to mind when listening to the album. Murder by Death has become softer and softer with every new album. And, "Egg & Dart" follow like a natural progression from their last three more or less introspective albums: "Big Dark Love" (2015), "The Other Shore" (2018) and "Spell/Bound" (2022). Best songs are "Believe", "Wandering", "Ick!", "So Long", "Now Matter How" and "Black Velvet Cloak". You can listen to "Egg & Dart" and buy it in digital format at Bandcamp, just click here (opens in a new window). Physical copies are available through their website.
